Antarctica, Cuverville Island, Neko Harbour and Paradise Bay

We stepped on an Antarctic Island today: Cuverville, situated 64° 41´S / 62° 38`W, in between Rongé Island situated in the Gerlache Strait and the mainland. The island is home of about max. 20.000 Gentoo Penguins, a pity I cannot send a photo of the smell with this ;).

Dieser Tag ist einzigartig, der schönste bisher? Scheint mir jedenfalls gerade so.

Frühstück fiel aus, Schlaf war wichtiger. Das Wetter ist einfach unglaublich grossartig! Knallsonne, ein paar Wolken fern am Himmel, Wärme trotz sichtbarem Atem, ruhigstes Wasser, es treibt viel Eis umher. Wir landen in Cuverville an. Viele Eselspinguine, auch ein Albino.
