Amsterdam

I haven´t been here for about a decade. And before now only for 1-2 days each. Now it was one afternoon, and it was lovely weather, sunny and warm, probably the first warm day. Chatting, taking photos, being saved from bikers many times, I couldn’t also concentrate on the city map, while we were looking to buy some clothes first. The very center is packed with tourists and there are no canals. We managed to get to the Singel street and canal, find a sunny place in a café and drink a fresh orange juice. Before I headed towards the river to meet a friend I didn´t see for 40 years.

I walked down Herengracht – what a beautiful street!!! I couldn’t stop taking photos… couldn’t be more Amsterdam to me, so lovely.

Met with my friend behind the central station, where you can take a free ferry over to the other side (runs ever few minutes, two ferries switching). Once we had parked our car there for free and wanted to sleep there too, but then drove home at night – 2002 it was, my last time in Amsterdam, with Christian. Now for a walk and an Orange juice with Mark, and seeing my friend Miranda again.
