Hyde Park, Covent Garden, Thames River, 7 Dials

London baby!

My flight itinerary was booked in such a crazy way I had to look at it twice to believe it. But it only lasted another few seconds to see the chance in it: a full day in London „for free“ (not completely, but the travel cost was highly low). I actually had to . . . → Read On: Covent Garden, 7 Dials, Thames…

Manhattan for 1 hour

After my unsuccessful intents and trying everything to stay overnight, which in the end was even stated on my D2 visa as possible, I had given up days ago to see New York, other than from our fantastic and amazing arrival early in the morning, by ship.

But then suddenly it all changed again. I . . . → Read On: Manhattan for 1 hour

Sailing into New York

I was so excited to see this! And it was a fantastic experience. There is no better way to travel to New York!!! 🙂

Went to bed fairly early the night before, to get up at 4.15am [well, 3,20am as a colleague had not set his clock back ;)] and went up on deck 12. . . . → Read On: Sailing into New York

Few hours in Southampton, UK

Southampton is probably a city with nice typical English houses, lots of brick, pretty gardens. I could see that from the distance.

But when you are docked in port an on foot, walking distance does not take you there. I was happy to see a typical red telephone box :).

Other than that, . . . → Read On: Few hours in Southampton, UK

Paris for Tiki Pop

I had previously only been to Paris 2-3 times for a few hours and do not remember much.

Now this time I went to Paris for a reason, My brother was opening his Tiki Pop exhibition in the famous Quai Branly Museum in the center of Paris, right next to the Eiffel Tower.

This was . . . → Read On: Paris for Tiki Pop

Gartenzwerge in Tschechien

Nearly forgot:

These guys were greeting me right after having left Germany, in the Chech Republic! Thought those were specifically Germany, but apparently not!

Prague! Getting there

Now that was a weird drive. Pretty short from Chemnitz, just 2,5 hours on empty roads. No proper gas station on my side of the road (just outgoing the Czech Republic), not a single sign for where to buy the vignette I do need for motorways, me constantly worrying to be stopped for the lack. . . . → Read On: Prague! Mobile at each destination

Hmmm….. thinking…. as I am travelling by car, I might as well take the foldeable bicycle, which I actually once bought for such occasions. For the first two stops enroute. Chemnitz and Prague. 6km from the appartment to the beach club , better on a bike than on a small scooter…especially with all the sunshine . . . → Read On: Mobile at each destination

Day 7 - Coming Home by Ship

As mentioned before, sailing in and out of Hamburg is a very special moment (hour) for me being from Hamburg – and for visitors of course.

I was up and on deck at 5am, just when passing by Falkenstein, Blankenese, Airbus…

What a beautiful sunset time, right after dusk, listening to the birds ashore at . . . → Read On: Day 7 – Coming Home by Ship

Day 5 – Visiting Oslo

The ship docked in the Björvika bay at the centric Revierkai, just minutes away from the center of Oslo, and with a great view onto the Opera House.

Again, we were lucky, the sun came out (and before and after our port call it was raining) – the lucky ship.

In town, preparations were . . . → Read On: Day 5 – Visiting Oslo
